Sometimes the first three seconds into a song you first listen to, you know, it's going to be great. This is the best example of such a song. Eska's voice is golden.

SHADES OF BLUE
Pretty darling
Make me wait, then you call, you’re still home, you forget - will you admit that
This is only
The beginning of ending a sad situation that we’ve been in?
Keep trying to tell me something
Well, your actions have spoken
This heart can be broken but you’ll never know
Think it over
What this love will endure – you’re all I know I want
What am I supposed to do?
Baby, baby, baby, baby
I’m just another shade of blue
Baby, baby, baby, baby
No matter how we try to
Shake it baby, break it baby
I’m just another shade of blue
Baby, baby, baby, baby
Pretty darling
If it’s over then we’ve got to leave it and learn to let it go
This is only
‘Cos it’s wrong to deceive, never knowing will only give me hope
Keep trying to tell me something
Well, it’s so to believe when the point that you’re making isn’t serious
Think it over
So I’ll have to tell the truth, this is too much
What am I supposed to do?
Baby, baby, baby, baby
I’m just another shade of blue
Baby, baby, baby, baby
No matter how we try to
Shake it baby, break it baby
I’m just another shade of blue
Baby, baby, baby, baby
Can’t shake this feeling, shake this feeling down
Can’t shake this feeling, can’t shake this feeling
You’re all I know I want
Take stock of what we have got
Constantly asking you if you’re leaving me
Are you listening? Cos if you’re listening
You will know that I don’t want to be blue
Unconditional - it’s supposed to be
We’ll regret it if we don’t stop to think
And take stock of what we have got
Constantly asking you if you’re leaving me
Are you listening? …
You’re all I know I want
How can you leave me lonely, low?
Still be so lonely, lonely, solo?
How can I be so lonely, low?
Still be so lonely, lonely in your arms?

ESKA is the most talked about, revered, internationally known singer you've never heard of! Releasing her first EP in 2013, her critically acclaimed debut solo album is OUT NOW!

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
